Glitter Cannons and YMCA | Fantastic fun – Belmont Hotel Wedding Photographer

The wedding of Jones & Jones!

As usual it was another wonderful wedding day spent with Ben and Claire. They had a late ceremony at 2.30 which meant for a very relaxed morning. There was so much space in the room at The Belmont Hotel for bridal preparation photography, I loved using the natural light that streamed in from the large windows to photograph hair and makeup. I LOVED the brides and bridesmaids shoes! The Groom even had matching diamante backs to his shoes.

There were none of the normal formalities of groom not seeing the bride before the ceremony with Ben constantly popping up to give his wife to be a kiss and to check on progress, all a little nervous but the ceremony was lovely.

I was only permitted to photograph the exchange of rings but I made every shot count! It was group photography on the green at New Walk, I just loved the moments captured between Claire and her gran, there was no need for formal portraits after I had photographed them chatting, so much more emotive that smiles to the camera!  Peter and I then had fun with lights for the bridal portraits. I loved Claire’s floaty dress, the wind helped add some drama to the shots.

I have to say, they had the most amazing chocolate cake, you just needed to sniff it! it was SO chocolatey… one of the highlights was an incredible hand made gift, given to Claire. It must have taken hours of labour but a fantastic quilt composed entirely from Leicester Tiger rugby shirts! It really was very special. The evening celebration started with a bang.. quite literally with a glitter Cannon! It was quite frankly amazing and made the first dance photographs so much fun. I’d like more glitter cannons please, it was such a good idea.

I hope you like the little peek at the photographs taken on the day. Please be patient while I finish the edit on the gallery.
