It was just so very sunny! I arrived in the morning to Barton Hall in Kettering to photograph Katie’s preparation, it was such a hot day. Katie’s had her bridesmaids dresses all hand made and they were beautiful with very striking and unusual underskirts. The flowers by Bluebell Floristry were stunning as usual and I just loved Katie’s dress it suited her perfectly.

Katie and Dean already had a family and it was wonderful to see a couple so obviously still smitten with each other and so thrilled to be finally getting married! It was obvious to everyone that Katie and Dean had an absolute ball on their wedding day. From the start it was one big party and I loved spending time with all their family and friends.

Mini-Video and Personal Vows

I don’t always do this but Katie and Dean had planned some personal vows to say to each other during their ceremony and I love to take a bit of video every now and again and recorded their vows for them. I produced and edited a short video of special moments I captured on the day. It is lovely to be able to do this on occasion, video will completely freeze time and I love filming little snatches of the day, the final montage of clips is just lovely to give my couples to reminisce over. Katie and Dean’s ceremony was brilliant, I don’t think either of them managed to get the words right straight away and there was a lot of laughter!

Dancing In The Sunset

If you know me you know I will always go with the flow. We were feeling a little pushed for time after the group shots and the sun was shining with Helen from Honey Bee’s Vintage Teas serving ice cream and I felt it would be too rushed to do my couple photography straight away. I decided to wait until after the wedding breakfast so everyone could enjoy the weather. I was so glad I did!

Just before speeches as I was taking my break the suns setting produced the most incredible glow and lighting so I asked Katie and Dean if they wanted to dash out to capture the moment. The lighting was wonderful and they had a lovely quite moment dancing together in the sunlight, it was worth taking the time out. Thirty seconds later and the moment had gone. Later that evening, during sun-set we spent longer together on their portraits and it really was worth holding off. The sun set and as it did we captured a lovely sequence of images that just brings back the mood and feeling of the day. Not staged, just natural, warm and sunny… just like the day.

The sun set and Katie and Dean took their first dance. It was all a lot later than planned but this is just how it is sometimes. I left, tired but happy. It was a really lovely wedding.
