Katie & Dean

It was just so very sunny! A very warm wedding at Barton Hall in Kettering.

Katie's had her bridesmaids dresses all hand made and they were beautiful with very striking and unusual underskirts. The flowers by Bluebell Floristry were stunning as usual and I just loved Katie's dress it suited her perfectly.

Video and Personal Vows

If you can afford Exclusive Use do! The Orangery at Kilworth Housemakes such a stunning location for the ceremony with its glass frontage.. all that natural light! I have photographed many weddings at Kilworth and it's Orangery surpasses so many venues for it's light, space and ambience. I have even attended a wedding as a guest at Kilworth and to have wedding breakfast in the Orangery is such a luxurious experience.

The sun shone and Katherine and Paul had chosen to have the least group shots as possible so we had extra time to make them fun, and we did! I tend to always photograph my groups on the steps, it means guests are not having to risk their heels sinking into the grass and the Orangery is a great backdrop. It did make me laugh to see a cardboard cut out face being held up by one of the Groomsmen during the portraits - an absent guest I was told, it was a very funny touch!

Dancing in the Sunset

If you know me you know I will always go with the flow. We were feeling a little pushed for time after the group shots and the sun was shining with Helen from Honey Bee's Vintage Teas serving ice cream and I felt it would be too rushed to do my couple photography straight away. I decided to wait until after the wedding breakfast so everyone could enjoy the weather. I was so glad I did!

Just before speeches as I was taking my break the suns setting produced the most incredible glow and lighting so I asked Katie and Dean if they wanted to dash out to capture the moment. The lighting was wonderful and they had a lovely quite moment dancing together in the sunlight, it was worth taking the time out. Thirty seconds later and the moment had gone. Later that evening, during sun-set we spent longer together on their portraits and it really was worth holding off. The sun set and as it did we captured a lovely sequence of images that just brings back the mood and feeling of the day. Not staged, just natural, warm and sunny... just like the day.

The sun set and Katie and Dean took their first dance. It was all a lot later than planned but this is just how it is sometimes. I left, tired but happy. It was a really lovely wedding.
