A Great Many “I Do’s” at Hothorpe Hall

I arrived at Hothorpe Hall to find Samantha getting ready in The Round Room, it was a very hot and sunny morning and it was lovely  to have the doors open to the sunshine for hair and makeup. Sam and Danny’s son was to be the official ring bearer and it made me smile to see the rings handcuffed to him in a very serious looking black box. He had gangster shades to match! The ceremony was very animated with a lot of laugher, both Sam and Danny saying their “I Do’s” pretty much after every question the registrar asked of them. Their son delivered the rings on cue.. obviously after un-handcuffing them from his wrist! It was a very fun ceremony.

A Vintage Wine

Group shots were fun as always and both Sam and Danny wanted their couple photographs to be as natural as possible so we had a lovely leisurely walk around  the grounds while the guests chatted, taking lots of natural photographs with minimal posing. I lovely touch to the wedding breakfast was that the table names were given to those that were passed so they attended the wedding in spirit, I thought that was a lovely idea.  Speeches were as usual very entertaining and unusually the two children gave a speech at the end.. very brave I thought! Guests had come as far as Australia for the wedding and chatting to Sam I learnt that they were drinking wine on their table that her father had gifted to them, purchased a while ago and just come to maturity. The two very expensive bottles had been maturing in a wine cellar in London and cost £500 just  to transport them to Hothorpe! If I knew anything about wine I would tell you the vintage but I have put an image on the blog so you can do your own research. I was tempted to swig the dregs from the left over bottle to see what such an expensive wine tasted like.. but it wouldn’t have been the most appropriate thing to be seen doing!

Football In The Sunshine

The grounds at Hothorpe were well used after the wedding breakfast with a good kick-about on the football pitch and games on the lawn, everyone was still out in the evening sun until called for the cake cutting and first dance.

A very sunny and memorable wedding at Hothorpe Hall.
