Sandra and Robert | Kilworth House Hotel

It was my last wedding of 2018 at Kilworth House Hotel and I was looking forward to it. Kilworth House has to be one of my favourite local venues for wedding photography. My brides seem to bring the sunshine with them! Sandra and Robert had chosen the right day for their wedding.

Bride Preparations at Kilworth House Hotel

Sandra prepared for her wedding with her daughter. I loved her beautiful red dress! Flowers arrived from the lovely Carolanne Keith from CK Flowers and we all admired the Christmas feel to the bouquets. I also shared the day with Tin Box Memories videographers, it is always wonderful to work with trusted suppliers. You just know the day is going to go to plan!

Ceremony and Celebration

The wedding at Kilworth House Hotel was fun and relaxed, apparently one of the best men is a bit of a celebrity, I am though, terrible with this sort of thing, so it was a bit lost on me. I was always hopeless editing music videos, exasperated by my lack of knowledge regarding who Emma Bunton or Lee Ryan were.

The ceremony was lovely, held in the Orangery with the sun shining through the glass windows. Sandra and Robert were just overjoyed! It was warm enough for portraits on the steps although guests did not want to stay outside long, it was a little chilly!

Quiet Time

The time spent on couple portraiture at a wedding is so special for newly-weds, it is often the only time of the day where they have special time alone together. At the wedding consultation, this part of the day is often just seen as ‘time for photographs’, I don’t see it like this, it is a very unique part of the day, away from the guests, the first chance to have a private moment as a married couple, before the drinking and celebrations really start. It is a special time.

I led Sandra and Robert on a walk around the grounds, giving them time together and photographing as we went. It was a beautiful, quiet, pause in the day, which was perfect.

Speeches and Another Amazing Dance

Wedding Speeches at Kilworth House Hotel

Sandra and Robert’s wedding speeches were so entertaining. There are too many funny moments to list but these are my favourites!

  • No1: Best man number one, had written his whole speech as a comical, rhyming poem… priceless!
  • No2: Robert, who (causing chaos with the videographers) chose to walk around the Orangery introducing special family members and friends as part of his speech, with a story for each!
  • No3: Best man number two: The beautifully printed and bound documents for best man speech number two, with hilarious pictures of Robert going back through the years.

All very VERY funny and memorable and brilliantly executed.

Rocking The First Dance (again).

I seem to have had the year of first dance extravaganzas! Sandra and Robert took to the dance floor and wowed everyone with a brilliantly choreographed first dance.

I left my last wedding of 2018 tired but so happy for Sandra and Robert who had had such a warm, loving and fun wedding day.
