Not One But Two Dresses And Two Pairs Of Shoes!

It was a very wet morning when I arrived to photograph the wedding of Chrissie and David at Kilworth House Hotel. To my surprise Chrissie had not one, but two dresses and two pairs of shoes to match! They were both gorgeous outfits and the shoes incredibly high. Chrissie was very chilled during her preparations and the registrars arrived before she had even put on her dress, it was very relaxed. I was under strict orders to photograph predominantly candid, with with no groom prep wanted and just a couple of group shots planned it was looking to be a very leisurely day.

An Emotional Ceremony

It was a very emotional ceremony with a few tears and quite a lot of laughter. I held back a little from photographing too much during the ceremony as I knew David was very nervous. There is nothing worse than having a camera in your face while you are trying to say your vows while trembling with nerves! To be honest during any ceremony there is no need to take hundreds of shots and photograph furiously. I try and limit my shots to a few reactions, exchange of rings and first kiss and I try not to interrupt exchange of vows too much or any religious prayer. Of course it is always up to the registrars what photographs I can take at a civil ceremony but even given no restrictions I think its quite important not to be too intrusive. That said  Chrissie and David had a lovely mix of tears and laughter during their ceremony, it was lovely to photograph.

Just Two Group Shots

Well that’s a first for me, I think I had ‘no group shots’ last year but this year this wedding wins the prize for the least group shots, just two! A large group shot and a family shot. Neither Chrissie or David particularly liked having their photograph taken so I spent the day photographing candids of their guests. We spent a short time taking a walk around the grounds for some couple portraits but we kept these as relaxed and as natural as possible. The day flew and it felt like no time at all before David was taking Chrissie to the dance floor for their first dance together. I love the lighting in the Cellar Bar at Kilworth House, it gives the first dance photographs a lovely ambience!

I hope you like the sneak peek while I edit the rest of the gallery. x
