Wedding Photography at the Woodlands | Wedding Photographer Hothorpe Hall

I photographed a beautiful wedding last weekend at the new Woodlands Wedding venue at Hothorpe Hall. Sarah and Jon were married in Knighton at St Mary Magdelene Church. The weather was not playing ball in the morning with some really drizzly showers, we made good use of my wedding umbrellas to walk the extremely short distance across the road from Sarah’s house to the church. Things all seemed to be on our side after that though with the weather doing exactly as it was supposed to do just as the church bells rang and the newly weds left the church. I decided to photograph all our groups at the back of the church by the Lichgate, just in case the weather didn’t hold for the celebrations back at Hothorpe, I also took the opportunity to photograph the couple as they walked hand in hand down the stunning treelined path at the back of the church.

It was then back to The Woodlands, Hothorpe Hall’s new wedding venue. It was my first time attending a wedding there and I was so impressed with the new venue. I believe Sarah and Jon’s wedding was only the third since it’s opening. Nestled in the woods behind hothorpe the cabin venue has large windows that were all open onto the lawned area, surrounding this, log cabins stretched down into the woods to house the wedding guests. A lawn in the centre had Jenga and other lawn activities and ice cream was served by Hettie courtesy of Honey Bees Vintage Teas. The sun kept coming out from behind the now light cloud and the guests had ice cream and listened to music courtesy of Clementine Acoustic Duo.

Sarah and Jon made their way into the woods to a beautiful clearing, passing the stunning tree-house where the lucky couple spent their night! It was all very beautiful. Reception drinks held in the woods, next to a river with beautiful open countryside around. I photographed Sarah and Jon by the pretty stream and later, as the sun set a little, grabbed them for a quick shot in the woods as the low sun streamed through the tree branches. The wedding breakfast was held in the central cabin with patio doors open to the wood. The band played late into the night and Sarah and Jon had the best day! Hats off to Hothorpe to pulling off what I think is going to be a wedding venue very much in demand!

Here is a little sneak preview of some of the photographs taken on the day.

Got to catch up with some of my newborn sneak peeks this week… I am a little behind!!
